Once again you've come and gone, and i can't decide if you were a long summer or a short one this year round. When I think about the fact that I am about to start my last year of college life, I think, damn, summer where did you go? But when I sit back and think of all I did this summer, I think, yes, I am ready for school to be here because I've done my fair share of partying, tired of the same faces at the same places (no offense to any one in particular, it just gets old after a while, and sometimes taking a break is needed) and I am ready to see all my school friends who live out of state.

We had a good one this year summer. We had a rocky start, but once I finally let go of all the baggage from the past, i've realized i've never been happier. I always knew the sad lonely nights and heartache would eventually fade away, but I kept holding on to it for the wrong reasons and didnt want to let go of the history "we" once had and built. but in the end summer, you helped me realize, the only one suffering was me, and I deserve to be happy, and thats exactly why its called the past... because i've finally moved past.

this year you brought me San Francisco, Las Vegas, spending quality time and living with my God family in LA, a great job, the ability to actually save the much needed money, fun summer days and nights with friends, blissful kickbacks, wild club nights, reuniting old friendships and making a few new ones, a craaazy 4th of July, and a much better Labor Day in comparison to last years historical one (l-o-l).

With you Summer I have grown. I have seen some friendships die, people change, and embraced it all without any complaints. I experienced 3 funerals, the most i've ever had to attend in a 4 month span. I experienced illness this summer that even though, now cured, the emotional and physical pain of it will never be forgotten, but i forgive the one who brought it upon me. I have learned who and what is important to me this summer, and learned from the many mistakes of last summer, spring, winter, and fall. Even though at times, when I stayed hidden in my shell, and felt different and all alone from the rest of the world, and even after i eliminated all the negatives in my life, both situations and people, I knew that at the end of the day, i'm not.

so here's to you summer, and to our many summers to come, and until then, i thank you and will miss you; your hot sunny LA days, the beach, the pool, and the warm nights where you can wear exactly what you wore that day without having to throw on a jacket, and the care-free days of not having class or homework. I take with me the lessons learned, and start my new adventure into true adult hood.

I'm ready for you Fall/Winter/Spring.

first of all, if you weren't at the unLAced event this past Saturday, you are a disgrace to LA. lol.. jk (kind of) but really, my boy Beau, Eric, Ceez, and Jordan did their thing with this event. it was a HUGE SUCCESS!! We started early with the set up at 6am, doors opened at 12 noon (I worked the door) and people were coming in non stop all day till it was over at 8pm.

there were performances by some of your LA favorites, Shawn Chrys, Casey V, H.O.P.E., Skeme, and then ended it off with Detroit's own, Big Sean (who is on Kanye's G.O.O.D. Music just in case you're BEHIND on today's hip hop music) who then raffled off some Yeezy's (raffle tix were only 5 bucks!) there were a lot of the hottest LA and streetwear clothing brands and shoe stores/traders in attendence as well... shoes for trade, clothes and hats for sale.. sponsored by Best Buy.. overall a great day! there are TONS of pics from the day, but here are a few my boy KC took..

Tracy & Ant made sure all us workers were "laced" up in Gucci ;)

I honestly don't get it. It's not BAD, but it's not good either. I think it could have been better for it being such a good song, and for being directed by Kanye. And personally, I'm more of an ass type of girl anyway ;-) lol. All those titties in my face was pretty annoying.

Throughout the video you see us prepping for this big championship game, and my team ends up losing. Of course we have all been saddened by the death of the Legend, Michael Jackson. I cried for the 1st time when Janet came on stage at the BET Awards and spoke. I think seeing a family member talk about it made it REAL for me. I cried again when I was in the car on the way to work, listening to HISTORY when "Childhood" came on. That has to be one of the most depressing songs ever made, because you know he was singing about himself. I watched his videos being played over and over on every music channel for 3 days straight, and my dad asked me "You haven't got tired of watching him either?" my answer was NO. even after watching the same videos over and over, one i missed the day before seemed to come on, that man had countless hits and videos.

I feel bad, people didnt let him live in peace, and the media still wont let him Rest in Peace either. Every time i turn on the news, another MJ story, about this document, his kids not being his after all, etc etc... like SO WHAT! All that is between him and his family, not the world, just let the man rest already.

yeah it's been a while since i've last blogged. my laptop is broken, so i rarely ever come on the computer anymore... and since my phone broke, i got a crackberry and never get off it, especially with ubertwitter, ha. but ummm school's over, just chillin this summer, been looking for a summer job, hanging with friends. I'm just tryin to get me a nice tan, have lots of beach days, take a few drives by myself, with my music blastin, with no specific destination.. thats my idea of relaxing. lazy days at home, watchin the Lakers whoops some ass.. all that. So, at my school, I work in the Cultural Center as a program coordinator. This is Diverse Identities month, and our theme this year is "I AM..." and every week we have a new campaign. Last week we set it off the with the "I Am" shirts, where students were able to write what they felt they identified with on the shirt, and everyone who made one was supposed to wear it on the 16th. Some people had no imagination what-so-ever and wrote things like "I Am... smart" lol while others took it a bit more seriously, and made shirts such as "I Am... not a stereotype" or "I Am... an ally" as well as some other creative ones.

Umma, who also works in the Cultural Center with me, and I decided we missed our good friend Amia too much, who is studying abroad in Peru right now. So we decided to decorate the back of our shirts in her memory, take a picture and tag her on facebook so that she knew we were thinking of her =) Maniac Mob for live!

sooo you know those dumb moments in life where you make silly mistakes.. lol well one got caught on camera. as we were trying to take the picture, it took us forever to figure out why the hell the camera wouldn't take the picture... then i figured it out lol
