A Taste of #UNLACED

first of all, if you weren't at the unLAced event this past Saturday, you are a disgrace to LA. lol.. jk (kind of) but really, my boy Beau, Eric, Ceez, and Jordan did their thing with this event. it was a HUGE SUCCESS!! We started early with the set up at 6am, doors opened at 12 noon (I worked the door) and people were coming in non stop all day till it was over at 8pm.

there were performances by some of your LA favorites, Shawn Chrys, Casey V, H.O.P.E., Skeme, and then ended it off with Detroit's own, Big Sean (who is on Kanye's G.O.O.D. Music just in case you're BEHIND on today's hip hop music) who then raffled off some Yeezy's (raffle tix were only 5 bucks!) there were a lot of the hottest LA and streetwear clothing brands and shoe stores/traders in attendence as well... shoes for trade, clothes and hats for sale.. sponsored by Best Buy.. overall a great day! there are TONS of pics from the day, but here are a few my boy KC took..

Tracy & Ant made sure all us workers were "laced" up in Gucci ;)

I honestly don't get it. It's not BAD, but it's not good either. I think it could have been better for it being such a good song, and for being directed by Kanye. And personally, I'm more of an ass type of girl anyway ;-) lol. All those titties in my face was pretty annoying.

But here's what Drizzy had to say about the concept.

Complex: Understandable. So what’s the concept?

Drake: The concept of the video is, I’m a coach at a high school and the girls of my life are all on my high school basketball team. Throughout the video you see us prepping for this big championship game, and my team ends up losing. You see the looks on their faces at the end of the video, but the moral of the story, I guess, is win or lose, you can still be the best to somebody. When women see the video and see all the breast and ass, hopefully they don’t take offense. Hopefully they see the real meaning.

Of course we have all been saddened by the death of the Legend, Michael Jackson. I cried for the 1st time when Janet came on stage at the BET Awards and spoke. I think seeing a family member talk about it made it REAL for me. I cried again when I was in the car on the way to work, listening to HISTORY when "Childhood" came on. That has to be one of the most depressing songs ever made, because you know he was singing about himself. I watched his videos being played over and over on every music channel for 3 days straight, and my dad asked me "You haven't got tired of watching him either?" my answer was NO. even after watching the same videos over and over, one i missed the day before seemed to come on, that man had countless hits and videos.

I feel bad, people didnt let him live in peace, and the media still wont let him Rest in Peace either. Every time i turn on the news, another MJ story, about this document, his kids not being his after all, etc etc... like SO WHAT! All that is between him and his family, not the world, just let the man rest already.

Computer-less

Not having a computer really sucks. I'm saving up for a new laptop though, so by the time school starts, that will be fixed (since I got a couple other things I need to save up for as well) But anyway, summer goin good, got a job which I love out in Culver City, the weather finally decided to act right and I'm finally dark again lol, been swimmin, to a couple BBQ's, gettin ready for the 4th of July woop woop! I havent been out in a couple weeks actually though, so I'm ready to get back into it... slowly.
